Crews from three cities kept an attic fire from consuming a northwest Phoenix home Wednesday afternoon, according to a Phoenix Fire spokesman.
Nobody was injured from the blaze, which spewed black smoke into the sky near Union Hills Road and 51st Avenue, Capt. Kenny Overton said in an email.
Fire crews from Phoenix, Glendale and Peoria responded to numerous calls just after 4 p.m., Overton said.
The homeowners and their pets were out of the house when crews arrived. Firefighters worked inside and outside the house to control the flames.
A family of six displaced by the blaze was working with the Phoenix Fire Department’s Crisis Response Unit to find a place to stay, Overton said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
