Congress Fire District has been awarded the FY 2019 Arizona Governor’s Office of highway Safety Grant in the amount of $5,241. Congress Fire District will use the funding to purchase supplies such as safety vests, cones, and other items to improve safety when responding to highway incidents. These items will help improve visibility and traffic control and provide for safer and quicker extrication of patients from their vehicles, thus decreasing the amount of time spent in unsafe positions on the highway.
Congress Fire District provides fire, rescue, and EMS services covering an area of nine square miles, and also provides mutual aid to 875 square miles of the surrounding area.
