The owners of a residence in Sun City West were displaced after a fire broke out in their garage.
According to the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority, crews responded to a garage fire around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday near 151st Avenue and Tom Ryan Drive.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire and prevented it from extending into the attic and the interior of the home.
No one was home at the time, although the two residents were displaced.
“The fire originated in the area of the golf cart in the garage and the cause is accidental,” said Eric Kriwer, AFMA fire marshal. According to residents in a Sun City West Facebook group, a neighbor called in the fire as the homeowners were out running errands.
A similar case happened in Sun City Tuesday, where a vacant home caught fire.
