The Phoenix Fire Department conducted a two-hour rescue on Camelback Mountain Saturday afternoon.
A female hiker was on the Echo Canyon Trail when she began complaining of back pain due to the heat.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they enlisted a rescue team to hike up and bring her down in a stretcher.
The hiker is in stable condition and has no injuries, according to a statement from the Phoenix Fire Department.
Technical Rescue Teams are specially trained to help get people out of difficult situations, such as mountain rescues, building collapses, and even tall palm trees, Phoenix Fire Department Capt. Rob McDade said Saturday. The department has six teams that are stationed across the city, and keeps special equipment in its trucks.
