The Arizona City Fire District boundaries continue to grow as more property is annexed. On Monday the governing board approved the annexation of four different lots on the corner of Sunland Gin Road and Battaglia Road. "By annexing this we'll have doubled the size of our fire district," Fire Chief Jeff Heaton said. "[The owner] came over said 'I'd like to annex my property' and we said 'OK, we'll do the house section right there on the corner' and she goes 'no I want to give you everything I have.'" Heaton added that back when Arizona City changed it's zip code to 85123 some of the properties were not included and now the district is making sure all of the properties previously serviced by the fire district are still included.
