One of the most famous images of the Granite Mountain Hotshots is from a photo taken days before the deadly Yarnell Hill Fire killed all but one member of the crew. Snapped by hotshot Christopher MacKenzie, the photograph shows the wildland firefighters forming a human pyramid in front of a giant juniper tree near Prescott that the crew had saved during the Doce Fire. The photo is one of the last to show them all together. MacKenzie's camera was found on June 30, 2013, along with the bodies of the 19 crew members who died fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire. On Saturday, a 9-foot-by-9-foot steel memorial based on the iconic photo will be unveiled in their memory in downtown Yarnell. A dedication ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. at the Yarnell Hill Fire Memorial Park.
