A man died after a car fell on him, trapping him underneath, according to fire and police officials. The Phoenix Fire Department says the victim is a 55-year-old man. It happened near 79th Avenue and Indian School Road at about 1 p.m. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Fire crews initially said a car jack had failed, causing the car to fall on the man. Police said later that the car was held up by wooden blocks before the accident.
