VIDEO: Wildfire danger is spreading across Northern Arizona and California.
Red Flag Warnings are common during this time of year, especially after Arizona experienced below-average monsoon precipitation.
Power was cut off for nearly one million California customers on Wednesday in order to prevent fires from starting.
Wind advisories are in effect for sections of Arizona and California, and this can also add fuel to fires as well.
While wildfires are a threat all year round, they can kick up during the fall season.
John Walka, Battalion Chief with Rural Metro Fire says, “Sometimes we do see increases in wildfires during this time of year, because a lot of the time we have our guard down. Once again we do see debris piling up around peoples’ yards and neighborhoods.”
