Barbie Skeen-Barrett, a longtime member of the Bullhead City Fire Department, has been named the agency's next fire marshal.
Skeen-Barrett previously served as interim fire marshal following the retirement of Fire Marshal Jim Dykens on Jan. 1, 2020. She becomes the department's first female fire marshal.
She joined the Bullhead City Fire Department in 2004 as a public education specialist. She later held positions of fire inspector and fire investigator. She began her fire service career in 2000 as a firefighter/EMT with the Rural Metro Fire Department, a private fire protection service.
