PHOTO: A grant awarded to the Chandler Fire Department by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has allowed firefighters to purchase lifesaving equipment for the community.
The grant, worth more than $14,000, went toward an automatic chest compression system that administers perfect CPR compressions in the event of cardiac arrest, according to a press release.
“We greatly appreciate the generosity and support of Firehouse Subs and their customers,” Chandler Fire Chief Tom Dwiggins said in the release. “They are demonstrating their commitment to our community, and this donation will help Chandler paramedics save lives.” Chandler’s grant is one of 102 awarded by Firehouse Subs to emergency service organization around the conutry, totaling more than $2.1 million.
