VIDEO: With such widespread devastation happening in Australia during its historic bushfire season, it’s no wonder firefighters from around the world are helping the land "Down Under." Some of them are from right here in Arizona. “To be quite honest, it’s been a dream within my professional career to come down here and experience the bushfire season,” Interagency Aviation Officer Sean Cox said. He knows a thing or two about fighting wildland fires because he’s based in Tucson. Back on December 7th, he and other American firefighters flew to Australia after they were selected by the National Interagency Fire Center to face the historic flames. “The weather and fire behavior here has been nothing short of incredible,” he said. “Learning the weather patterns here certainly took a little bit of time to see when we can maximize the use of our aviation.”
