Prescott Fire Department firefighters responded to Watson Lake on Sunday afternoon after receiving a report of man falling from a cliff on the west side of the lake near the water’s edge. According to a press release, two engines, a battalion chief, the department’s technical rescue vehicle, and zodiac boat all responded to the scene. Two engine companies hiked in to the man while the boat was readied as a possible means of extracting the victim.
Crews found a 41-year-old Anthem man conscious and alert, but suffering from injuries. The man reported that he slipped while climbing around on the boulders with his wife and three children. He fell 10-15 feet. The man was stabilized on an immobilization board and given medications for pain management while the boat accessed the nearby shoreline.
