The Casa Grande Fire Department will see better equipment after the City Council approved a purchase of 70 Scott self-contained breathing apparatus cylinders from Municipal Emergency Services. “All this equipment is designed to prevent cancer,” Fire Chief Dave Kean said. The cylinders have a 15-year useful life expectancy and are tested every three years. According to the agenda, the cylinders are an essential piece of equipment. The department maintains an inventory of approximately 150 cylinders. The City Council also approved a contract for critical repairs on the solids-removal process at the city’s water reclamation plant.
