VIDEO: The Phoenix Fire Department assisted a man at South Mountain on Sunday morning after he fell off his horse. When crews arrived at the Summit Trail, they found a man in his 50’s who had fallen after his horse slipped on granite rocks and threw him to the ground. Crews determined the best course of action was a high angle rescue with a rope and pulley system. They were able to lower the man down to a big wheel and then take him to an ambulance on scene. The man suffered multiple lacerations and a broken wrist. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition for further treatment.
