VIDEO: Firefighters held the Sears Fire under 15,000 acres on Tuesday and increased containment to 30%, officials said.
The fire, which sparked near Forest Service Road and Sears Kay Ranch on Friday, grew by 225 acres Tuesday to a total of 14,476 acres after growing by far more on previous days.
Fire crews were monitoring infrastructure on Humboldt Lookout and structures in the Camp Creek recreation residences, according to a Tonto National Forest news release.
Overhead power lines in the area remained impacted by smoke and lower Camp Creek power lines were still de-energized, the release said.
