VIDEO: A deadly motorcycle-involved crash shut down a portion of Loop 101 near McDowell Road early Friday morning.
The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near McDowell Road.
According to Arizona Department of Public Safety officials at the scene, a woman driving a motorcycle was struck by another vehicle from behind. A second vehicle also struck the rider and her bike.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's unknown whether impairment was a factor in the crash, and officials are still investigating the circumstances.
