22 people displaced, 1 injured after early morning apartment fire in Phoenix

VIDEO: 22 residents and multiple pets are displaced from their homes after an early morning apartment fire near 23rd Avenue and Beardsley Road. The first alarm apartment fire started just after 1 a.m. According to Phoenix fire, the fire was reported to be on the third floor patio in the apartment complex. When they arrived on the scene, they noticed a lot of flames and that the fire was spreading throughout the apartment building. Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control. They faced some issues due to narrow access pathways as well as the fire spreading to the overhanging roof. A total of eight apartments were damaged from the fire. Phoenix Fire Crisis Response and the Red Cross are currently assisting those affected by the fire. Fire says a man was treated for minor burn injuries and transported to the hospital in stable condition. No firefighters were injured during the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
