A growing number of residents in and around the Gila County town of Miami are under evacuation orders Monday as the Telegraph Fire spreads.
Miami residents south of U.S. 60 from Dairy Canyon to Mackey’s Camp were added to the evacuation list early Monday, authorities said in a press release.
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office previously issued a similar order for Top-of-the-World and the area west of Miami town limits.
Multiple other area communities are in the SET phase of the emergency notification system, ones step below evacuation.
The wildfire has eaten up about 57,000 acres as of Monday morning, state officials said in an update.
Miami is about 80 miles east of Phoenix.
