Two firefighters had to be taken to the hospital Monday after they suffered minor injuries battling a fire. The blaze broke out just before 5 p.m. at a duplex near 43rd Avenue and Camelback Road. Fire crews from both Phoenix and Glendale responded to help fight the flames at the single-story duplex. When the first crews arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke pouring from the building. Two Phoenix firefighters suffered minor burn injuries in the first-alarm fire. They were transported to the Burn Unit at Maricopa Medical Center and are said to be in stable condition. Both firefighters were wearing full protective equipment and gear during this incident. As our chopper flew overhead, you could see heavy damage to the units that caught fire.
