Forward progress of Cornville Fire slowed or stopped

Fire activity on the Cornville Fire was minimal on Monday, June 14, and burned away from homes and populated areas, according to a June 15 release from Coconino National Forest. Firefighters secured lines around Cornville on Monday and patrolled the fire lines overnight. Today, June 15, firefighters will be focusing on the northern and eastern flanks of the Cornville Fire to keep the fire from progressing any further. There are currently no evacuations or structures threatened, but residents in the area are encouraged to remain prepared and be ready to evacuate if necessary, the release stated. The reported size of the fire, 1,241 acres, has not increased since Monday night. InciWeb is not yet reporting an estimated containment level.
