VIDEO: Help is on the way for families and business owners in the community of Gila Bend, after deadly flooding earlier this summer. People and small business owners who lost their homes or livelihoods because of the flooding are now able to get a federal loan.
Gila Bend Fire Chief, Arelia Henry, spent countless hours helping those impacted by the flooding that took place in mid-August, all while suffering extensive damage of her own. "I've lived in Gila Bend for the last 30 years," Henry said. "And I have never seen so much devastation, so much damage."
After the flooding, Maricopa County Emergency Management did its own research into the extent of the damage, to pass along to the federal government for help.
