VIDEOS: A firefighter was taken to a hospital after fighting a large fire that broke out at a home in Glendale early Thursday morning. Glendale Fire Department officials say the fire broke out at a home near 59th Avenue and Thunderbird Road. When crews arrived, the home was already heavily consumed by flames. A video from someone living nearby showed the massive blaze with multiple audible explosions. Fire officials say it started as a debris fire in the backyard that extended into the attic, which was full of contents. “Excessive personal property” made it difficult for fire crews to fight the blaze, according to the department. Illegal aerial fireworks were found across the street and are being investigated as a possible cause of the fire. One firefighter had to be treated at the scene and taken to a hospital as a precaution.
