VIDEO: Severe thunderstorms across the state have caused multiple new fires to pop up, prompting residents to be prepared for evacuations.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, two new wildfires, deemed the Left Fork and Element fires, started north of Kingman on Tuesday evening. The wildfires were caused by erratic, gusty winds from passing thunderstorms.
Firefighters are working to contain the flames and protect structures in the Emmitt Ranch area. The sheriff’s office says Vock Canyon residents and those who live west of Stockton Hill Road, between mileposts 18-23 are currently in “SET” evacuation status. Homeowners in the area should be aware of potential danger and be prepared to leave the area.
