Lonestar Fire burns 120 acres west of Kartchner Caverns State Park in Cochise County

VIDEO: The Lonestar fire is burning on Highway 90 in the Whetstone Mountains, one mile west of Kartchner Caverns State Park near Guindani Trail. According to the Coronado National Forest, the Lonestar Fire has burned 120 acres with zero percent containment. A state park ranger told 13 News that a lightning strike started the fire around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. CNF officials say no action was taken overnight, but firefighters scouted the area and began initial assessments. Coronado National Forest says aviation and support and additional crews are en route. Coronado National Forest says the fire is active on all flanks. WFD has asked the public to stay away from the area of Guidani Hill at Kartchner Caverns State Park. Coronado National Forest officials say there are no evacuations at this time.
