VIDEO: The Goldfield Ghost Town in Apache Junction is still standing after a fast-moving brush fire was closing in on Friday afternoon. “It’s been all over social media. I got all these people calling me, and I gotta be, ‘Everything is okay. Everything is okay,’” said Robert ‘Bob’ Schoose, the owner. The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management said initial reports of the Ghost Fire came in around 1:45 p.m. on Friday. It’s reported it sparked along State Route 88 near the Lost Dutchman State Park. Bob’s wife said about 250 people, including shop employees and guests, were evacuated on Friday as a safety precaution. “Whenever anything is like that, they’re going to get the public out of here,” said Bob. Bob returned on Sunday from a trip in California but said his two sons saw the fire and used the Ghost Town’s water truck to fight the flames before fire crews arrived.
