Vallejo Fire Department fire fighter and spokesman Kevin Brown is among those from Solano County who have been assigned to help with the wildfires burning around California.
He’s at the so-called Klamathon fire, which has so far burned some 35,000 acres and is 30 percent contained near the California and Oregon border, Brown said.
“It’s like most other large incidents I’ve participated at, although, I must point out that unfortunately one civilian died during the initial hours of the fire and one firefighter assigned to the initial attack, suffered sever facial burns and is being treated at the UC Davis Burn Center,” he said. “This always creates a looming feeling over base camp.”
Last year, Brown helped with the “Eclipse Complex” near the Oregon border, and, later, he was deployed to the Napa fires.
