Newly-appointed Fire Chief Mike Whorton, a 30-year veteran of fire service in Riverbank, was sworn in at the Thursday, Feb. 14 Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District board meeting at the fire hall on Topeka Street in Riverbank. District Board President Susan Zanker conducted the ceremony while Whorton’s wife Korie was in the audience and daughters Kendra and Kailee officially pinned the badge on their father.
