PHOTOS: The Solano County Inter-Agency Hazardous Materials Team responded to a call Monday morning in Vacaville after firefighters from the Vacaville Fire Department discovered a chemical spill of an unknown substance at the intersection of Alamo Drive and Peabody Road. “Around 8:10 a.m., Truck 74 was coming back from a medical call and they happened to see a white cloud going across the intersection and saw the four containers sitting there. So they blocked the roadway to prevent cars from driving through it and called for a haz-mat response,” Vacaville Fire Battalion Chief Gary Mahlberg said Monday while he oversaw the cleanup operation. Witnesses reported to firefighters that they saw a truck carrying the supplies lose its load as it turned from northbound Peabody Rd. to eastbound Alamo Dr., according to Mahlberg.
