Firefighters from Suisun City battled a two-alarm fire Tuesday that was later determined to be arson. Crews were dispatched to the Breezewood Village apartment complex in the 1300 block of Worley Road at 10:11 a.m. According to Suisun City Fire Chief Justin Vincent, upon arrival a command post was established and crews confirmed smoke coming from a fire in a second-story apartment. Vincent requested a second alarm. Fairfield Fire Department responded to the scene with a truck, engine and battalion chief to the scene. Firefighters from Vacaville were en route to the city to provide station coverage but they were canceled when off-duty Suisun City volunteer firefighters arrived at the station. Vincent said that the sprinkler system in the unit bought crews enough time to get on the scene and aided their efforts to extinguish the blaze.
