Firefighters have nearly reached full containment on the Swedes Fire in the hills east of Oroville.
As of 8:16 a.m. Friday, the fire has reached 98 percent containment. The fire has ceased growing at 496 acres and has been active since Saturday, according to the Cal Fire incident report.
Cal Fire-Butte County still has 52 personnel assigned to the fire operating two engines, two bulldozers and six water trucks.
The blaze destroyed two structures, but no injuries were reported as related to the Swedes Fire.
Cal Fire-Butte County’s Public Information Officer Rick Carhart said the fire remains under investigation.
The nearby Forbestown Fire reached 100 percent containment and burned 58 acres.
