The city of San Bruno on Tuesday announced a new fire chief who will take over after his predecessor's retirement in December.
New Fire Chief Ari Delay comes with 28 years of firefighting experience, including the past 24 with the Coastside Fire Protection District/Cal Fire in Half Moon Bay as a firefighter/paramedic, fire captain and battalion chief, according to the city.
Delay will replace retired Chief Dave Cresta. Battalion Chief Mike Kennedy had been serving as acting chief since Cresta's retirement.
Delay, a La Honda resident who has also served as chief of the La Honda Fire Brigade, will lead a department of 35 full-time employees, city officials said.
