Vallejo Fire Department puts out several dumpster fires Wednesday night

The Vallejo Fire Department put out four fires located within 10 blocks of each other by a suspected arsonist Tuesday night near downtown Vallejo. Three of the fires were in dumpsters and one was a debris pile blaze. No alarms were struck, since each dumpster fire was handled by a different response. The first call went out at 7 p.m. Vallejo firefighter Taylor Grisham puts out a Wednesday night dumpster fire on Jeffrey Alley near the Vallejo Times-Herald and behind the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum. A suspect was detained around 7:30 p.m., although the detained suspect was identified as not a match to whoever the eye witness was at 7:45 p.m. later in the night. The four sites of the fires were at 330 Virginia St near the Empress Theatre, another one was on Jeffrey Alley behind the Vallejo Times-Herald and Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum. The official address was given as the 400 block of Virginia St.
