A firefighter was injured and several people were displaced by a house fire in northwest Fresno. The flames were sparked just before 5 pm in one home near Durant and Locust and spread to the next one quickly. In video of the fire, you can see giant flames coming out of the attic of one of the homes and clouds of thick, grey smoke billowing upward. Some parts of the roof are visibly blackened and charred. Around 50 firefighters came together to contain the flames. One crew member suffered heat injuries, and all residents of both homes were displaced. There is a gas leak currently active and crews are trying to fully contain it. Authorities suspended medical aid response to the city for several hours as firefighters tried to contain the flames.
