PHOTOS: Monday night's structure fire in Mountain Gate started around 8:30 p.m. The fire left one person injured and sent to the hospital and destroyed a mobile home. Mountain Gate Fire Chief Devin Owen says when they arrived they went into rescue mode locating the person living in the home. That person sustained unknown injuries. Unfortunately, two dogs did die in the fire. A number of fire departments responded to this fire in Mountain Gate including their own volunteer fire department. Owen says the fire was put out within a couple of hours of them arriving. “We had Mountain Gate Fire Department, City of Shasta Lake, Cal Fire Bella Vista. The importance of getting everybody out here as quick as possible is to help keep that fire from expanding and actually spreading into potential threats. We were able to get him here fast and get the initial lock down that we needed so we could go ahead and send them back out to the county for any other additional needs.” says Owen.
