Using the Emergency Fund Authorization approved by Governor Gavin Newsom, the California Conservation Corps with CAL FIRE have expanded their partnership, bringing in a wildfire crew to help with the wildfires across California and in the Northstate. The corps member crew will be able to immediately respond to wildfires this season helping Cal Fire crews in reducing and removing overgrown brush that can fuel fires in and around the Redding area. The 17 member crew will also be ready to jump into action on fires knocking down flames and digging fire breaks. Nick Johnson, Redding Center Director for the CCC said their fire crew helped in last year's fires where hundreds and thousands of acres burned.
