It goes without saying that the rainfall the Northstate is receiving is desperately needed. However, could it hinder the rebuilding efforts of some recent fire survivors?
In Butte County, debris flow and dead trees falling over have been the concern in the North Complex Fire burn scar. The area has had a year to regrow but it has not done so to the extent desired, according to Butte County Administrative Officer for the Office of Emergency Management, Josh Jimerfield. On the flip side, much debris removal has already been completed. According to the CAL OES Debris Dashboard, 100% of debris removal has been completed from 2020 fires.
“For debris removal, that is well on its way and CAL OES has done a great job of getting that ready for residents to start applying for permits and getting back into the building. I don’t know that this is going to impact that to any degree.”
