Two wildfires burning in Sequoia National Park have local and state firefighters on high alert.
The fires, now known as the KNP Complex Fire, grew from four acres to 1,000 acres and has the potential to cause significant damage to the national park that some Tulare County residents call home.
A lightning event sparked three fires on Thursday in the Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks. The complex is comprised of the Colony Fire, located in the Yucca Drainage near Crystal Cave Road, and the Paradise Fire, located south of the middle fork of the Kaweah River.
The Cabin Fire is contained and is located in the Kings Canyon side of the park. Resources from that fire are now being sent to the KNP Complex.
Here's what we know about the Tulare County incident as of Monday morning.
