Brush Fire Injures 2, Evacuation Orders Lifted in Pleasanton, Sunol

Two people were injured in a brush fire burning on the Pleasanton Ridge Thursday afternoon, firefighters said. Flames were first reported at the 4500 block of River Rock Hill Road around 2 p.m. Evacuation orders are in place for anyone in the area of Golden Eagle, police said. The Alameda County Fire Department also ordered mandatory evacuations for residents in the area of Kilkare Road in Sunol. An evacuation warning was also issued for those on Castlewood Drive around 7:30 p.m. But as of 8:46 p.m., Cal Fire said the evacuation orders have been lifted. According to Fremont fire, a firefighter was injured at as a result of being hit by a fallen tree after a water drop operation. They added the firefighter was released from the hospital Thursday evening and is expected to be OK.
