VIDEO: Authorities say a fire that killed two young children at a west central Fresno home was intentionally set, and a man has been taken into custody on murder charges. The deadly fire happened at a home on the corner of Robinson and Marty Avenues near Dakota Avenue just after 6:30 am on Tuesday. Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderrama said the 29-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after giving a statement to police investigators, and detectives collected evidence at the scene. Investigators have not identified the suspect but say that he was a family member living at the house. Baderrama said two young children, an 18-month-old and a 5-month-old died in the fire. The children's mother was also severely burned. Officials said she ran to a neighbor's house across the street for help. Balderrama said she was taken to the hospital and "is not doing very well."
