A fire broke out at a housing complex in San Jose Tuesday morning, leaving three people, including a firefighter, injured and three units with significant damage, according to the fire department. The fire along the 1500 block of Fitchville Avenue was reported just before 10 a.m., San Jose Fire Department Capt. Sean Lovens said. Arriving firefighters found thick black smoke pumping out of the building's rooftop, Lovens said. There are at least six units in the impacted building, according to the fire department. The second floors and attics in three of those units sustained significant damage. Two of the three people who were injured – the firefighter and a civilian – were transported to the hospital, the fire department said.
