East Contra Costa Fire to Host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Station 55 in Oakley

The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District invites the community to its ribbon cutting ceremony for Station 55 in the City of Oakley. The event will be held on June 1, 2022 at 10:00 am at 3200 E Cypress Road. Upon opening, the station will be fully operational to respond to calls. According to the District, the station will be ALS staffed and for the first month it is being run as a contract station with ConFire. On July 1st the whole of ECCFPD switches to ConFire . The station will remain ALS staffed post annexation In September of 2018, when built, the $5.7 million station will replace Station 94 in Knigthsen and Station 55 will have a life cycle of around 55-years. When it becomes staffed, its anticipated due to placement, it will cut down on response times by 50% to Bethel Island, Knightsen and portions of Oakley.
