A man was arrested on drug charges Friday after firefighters responding to a house fire noticed a large amount of processed marijuana inside the residence. The Porterville Fire Department responded to the residence located in the 400 block of N. 2nd St. for a possible structure fire. When they arrived they learned it was just an oven fire that was already out. While fire personnel were inside the home, they saw a large amount of processed marijuana and contacted the Porterville Police Department. Police served a search warrant and arrested 23-year-old Adrian Lopez. Also in the home was a 22-year-old woman and their two small children who all live at the residence. Detectives located and seized over 400 pounds of processed marijuana, several boxes of concentrated cannabis oil, and equipment used for growing, processing, and sales of marijuana.
