PHOTOS: A former fire captain at the Sanger Fire Department and the boots he stashed in the ceiling of the firehouse have been reunited after more than 28 years. Captain David Gee put the boots in the ceiling when he finished his last shift on July 29th, 1996. He included a note with the boots that said, "Captain David Gee / 10-1-1964 Began Career / 7-29-1996 Last Shift" The current fire crew was surprised to find the boots during remodeling construction at the fire station and posted a photo online asking if anyone knew Gee. He was able to visit the station and get a first-hand look at the remodel happening at his former post. He told them he was present when the station was built almost 50 years ago. He allowed the Sanger Fire Department to donate his retired boots to the Sanger Historical Society.
