PHOTOS: A wildfire broke out Wednesday afternoon, spreading to 130 acres, burning or threatening structures and prompting evacuations in the Good Hope area between Perris and Lake Elsinore. The evacuation orders were canceled late Wednesday as firefighters stopped the forward rate of spread of the fire.
Crews responded to the Post Fire around 3:52 p.m., according to Tawny Castro, a spokesperson for the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. By about 11:30 p.m., the fire had grown to 130 acres with 25% containment.
A wind shift caused the fire to threaten structures and led officials to order evacuations south of San Jacinto Avenue and Santa Rosa Mine Road; west of West 4th Street and Highway 74; east of La Barranca and El Nido Road and north of Eucalyptus Avenue.
