Lightning likely sparked fire at Bobcat Ridge west of Loveland

Crews estimated that a 3-acre fire at Bobcat Ridge Natural Area was 75% contained by 8 p.m. Sunday. The fire was likely sparked by lightning, according to a Loveland Fire Rescue Authority Facebook post. The small wildfire drew crews from the Loveland fire department as well as Poudre Fire Authority, Berthoud Fire Protection District, Larimer County Emergency Services and the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, as well as rangers from Fort Collins Natural Areas and the U.S. Forest Service. Bobcat Ridge is a city of Fort Collins natural area that is located off West County Road 32C, west of Loveland off the Masonville Road.
