Summit Fire & EMS and Copper Mountain Fire are responding to a large gas leak near Copper Mountain, according to Colorado State Patrol. The mountain is closed while the line is being repaired. Summit Fire said an avalanche near the Conoco station in Copper Mountain ruptured a natural gas pipeline Thursday morning, sparking the leak. Steve Lipsher with Summit Fire said they got the call around 5 a.m. Despite earlier reports from authorities, he said there are no evacuations.
