On July 1 at approx. 6:45 a.m., an active structure fire was reported on Ute Drive in the Aspen Springs Unit 5 area.
Upon arrival, the first due engine completed a scene size up noting a fully involved residential structure as well as a fully involved outbuilding with fire spreading in the surrounding vegetation and one additional structure threatened.
First arriving units established a defensive exterior fire attack due to the fire activity. A water shuttle was established to allow constant flow of water for firefighters as this location is in a non-hydrant area.
Both structures were lost and the brush fire was contained to the approximately ¼ acre.
PFPD responded with two engines, one brush engine, four water tenders, two chief cars, one utility vehicle, ten paid staff members and ten volunteers.
One engine, one water tender and five firefighters from Upper Pine River Fire responded per standing mutual aid agreement.
