Colorado Springs Fire Department was called to an RV fire on the side of the road around 1:30 p.m. today. This happened right near the intersection of Uintah and Mesa Road. Smoke was visible for miles and reporting parties said large explosion sounds were coming from the RV. The fire department arrived on scene minutes later and successfully got the flames under control. They remained on scene for hours after to monitor hot spots and to investigate the scene. At this point, it is still unclear if the RV was parked on the side of the road when it caught on fire or if someone was driving the RV. No injuries were reported in connection to this accident. If anyone has any information related to this incident please contact the fire department. This is a developing story and we will update as we learn more.
