Quick action by the Norwalk fire department may have stopped a car fire from becoming a much more serious problem. A little after six thirty last night, firefighters got a call about a car fire at North Bridge Street and Woodside avenue. When they got there, the car was fully engulfed in flames and threatening a home just a short distance away. Crews were able to knock down the car fire in time to prevent it from spreading to the house. The house sustained some minor damage to the siding, but that was about the extent of the problem. Nobody was inside the home at the time and it’s still unclear what caused the car fire. There were no injuries. The fire marshal has launched an investigation.
