A car crashed into the Pet Valu store at 37 Monroe Turnpike early Sunday, causing minor injuries to the driver. According to Alex Rauso Jr., chief of the Long Hill Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the store around 12:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of car into a building. On arrival, he said, firefighters found that the car had crashed through the building and there was no entrapment. One person was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, Rauso said, and reported only minor injuries. Firefighters cleaned up a fluid spill in the building from the vehicles engine and waited on scene until the wreckers were able to remove the vehicle from the building. Rauso said the Trumbull police department is investigating the cause of the crash.
